A equipe brasileira Trivial-SD, competindo na principal categoria da Imagine Cup 2006 (Software Design), concluiu hoje sua apresentação na grande final. Quem estava lá para assistir foi ninguém menos do que o Mr. S. "Soma" Somasegar, o vice-presidente corporativo da Developer Divison da Microsoft, que viajou mais de 15 mil quilômetros de volta a sua terra natal para assistir às finais da competição. Ele também estava presente nas finais no Japão, mostrando seu comprometimento e a importância do evento (abaixo, ele está à esquerda, semi-cortado pela foto):

Em seu blog, Soma conta suas impressões da apresentação brasileira: "The second team demonstrated a solution where blind people can get directions to their destination.  Actually, one of the team members wore a blind-fold and demonstrated how he can navigate from one end of the room to another. As I sit here and think about what these students have been able to accomplish, it is heart-warming and exciting.  I was thinking back to what kinds of things I was doing hwen I was 20 years old, and I can tell you that I fall short by a mile of what these students are doing today."

Parece que o Soma gostou! Espero que os juízes também. Em breve, os resultados, não apenas os de Software Design como também os de Interface Design, no qual também ponho muita fé!
