People are funny about money. Punzie writes in his blog that there is an American 2 dollar bill. The two dollar bill and the one dollar coin never seem to catch on in America though. Canada uses coins for both one dollar and two dollar denominations and when I visit Canada I find the 2 dollar denomination very useful. So I'm not sure why they don't catch on in the US. OK I understand that they mean changes in cash registers and coin machines but so what? It's easy to program machines. And in fact many of the machines that take paper money have already been changed to accommodate the new designs on $5, $10 and $ 20 dollar bills.
These days I tend to use plastic money - credit cards. Sometimes I go away on a trip and come back with as much money in my pocket as I left with. Everything goes on a credit card. So over time what money we have in out pockets may disappear completely. Not sure about that. I like the feel of money and there is something to be said for an anonymous transaction which only cash money permits. Attempts at creating anonymous digital cash have pretty much gone no where though. How much demand for it is there in honest transactions? What do you think?
