Well the ramp is going ok. We've had to work around a couple of minor mistakes but nothing critical. The biggest mistake is that I decided we should screw the whole thing together. Screws hold the wood much better than nails. The problem is that driving all those screws is a pain. So we have been using the power driver. Until it ran out of power. I found some nails and we used them all up. The stores are mostly closed so we can't buy more nails today. This means we are waiting for the drill to recharge. This is the problem with relying on power tools. I need more batteries.
On the other hand all the cuts are made (but two) and we pretty much just need to finish screwing things together. After Easter dinner we will do most of that I think. Then make the last two cuts in the plywood. As long as we get the plywood down and basically screwed down we should be good. I can easily put in more screws tomorrow. I only need help with the big pieces. Cutting a 4x8 foot piece of 3/4 inch plywood is not something you want to do alone.
BTW this ramp is only about 15 feet long and 4 feet wide. A couple of years ago my son and I built a much bigger ramp (8 feet wide and around 20 feet long) so we could snowboard in our back yard. Pictures of that ramp may be found
here.
