It is still fairly early in the day (17:15) as I write this but basically the week end is over. A long week end and a good one. The weather held up nicely for three glorious days. Besides me planting the vegetable garden, my wife weeded the flower and herb gardens. Window boxes were filled with flowers. We have window boxes at each of the three front windows and both sides of the ramp into the house. Morning glories were planted at the entrance to the back yard. A bunch of pots were filled with flowers to line the edge of the deck in the rear of the house. And I was able to trim the honey suckle bush outside the kitchen window, the hedge that lines one side of the house, and a bunch of other shrubs, bushes and plants that had gotten overgrown early because of the rain we've had lately. We accomplished a lot this week end. The heavy lifting, as it were, is done and now we can enjoy a lot of this the rest of the summer.
Oh, sure, the plants have to be watered and the vegetable garden will take a lot of work over the course of the summer. But basically, getting things started is the hard part and that part is done. We are both tired but it is a good tired. I hope your day (and week end) went as well.
