My wife and I are doing a lot of work around the house this summer. We are in the middle of re-doing the second of three rooms we are doing this summer. Today I went to the hardware store to pick up wainscoting. I had 19 packages of 8 foot pre-cut, pre-painted wood. I used my wife’s Geo Tracker because it has a lot more room than my car plus it has a big door at the rear.
I loaded the wood and it seemed to fit. Just a little push on the back door. <crunch> Oh that doesn’t sound good. It turns out the wood fit very nice once the front window is pushed out a bit. The window was cracked up pretty good. The funny thing is that my wife broke the same window in much the same way a few months ago.
We really have to stop trying to put too much stuff in a car that is not designed to carry such loads. A small pickup truck would be just the thing. We don’t need it all the time but I think there are times when we just need one. I wonder what sort of a bonus I will get this year. Maybe I can put it towards a small, cheap pickup truck? It just has to be fairly reliable and be able to pass inspection. We’ll just have to wait and see.
