C# to get Edit and Continue

OK Visual Basic had this for years and then lost it for VB .NET. Everyone knew that was just temporary and that it would be back in Visual Studio .NET 2005. But today I saw the news that C# is going to have it as well. In fact it will be in the Community Technical Preview that is being released in a week or two. Why the change? Well, to be honest it is because so many people asked for it that the development team worked extra hard to make it happen. Now that is what I call listening to the customer!

That's awesome. I think that'll really make C# 2.0 THE language to work in...since it still has extra things that VB.NET doesn't...(not that there is anything wrong with VB.NET at all). From what I've seen, the C# Team is just great!

Brilliant news, will make c# even better to develop using. Anyway I am not a fan of VB anyway, it does ot semm right having no { or ; VB programmers will probarly have a go at me now;)

Wow, that would have really come in handy on our IC04 project. Now I just have to get our SA to configure our server so we can debug webservices.

I'd have to agree with mpp there. { and ; without the _ makes C# a lot easier to understand (at least for me). In addition to that, Edit and Continue is gona be there. This is great news. ^_^

curly braces and semi colons are the only thing I don't like about C#. I tend to think of them as being there for the compiler writers and not for the programmers.

I think the { and ; makes the code more readble for humans too, not only the compiler. But I guess that is because I'm used to it.

I presume both the development team of this languages are working hard to make this language stand on par and compliment one another. The bottomline would be a feature in C# would be incorporated in VB sooner or later and vice-versa.. :)

ALL .NET languages are (and should) be made equal. :)
