MSN Toolbar with desktop search

Have you installed the new beta MSN Toolbar with desktop search? Oh this is so cool. I do not want to go back to living without it. Jay's blog over at MSN Spaces has a great write up. And Channel9 has some videos ofthe development team talking about it and demoing features. Get it from http://beta.toolbar.msn.com/
Oh and they learned from some of the mistakes other desktop search engines have made and they don't indext the IE cache. Plus they index a lot more types of files than the other desktop search engines. For me I am sure glad that I can include OneNote files for example. And of course all my email is now indexed. And I have a lot of old email. :-)
Oh it does take a while to do the initial index but it is worth it.

What do you think about ZNet's article discussing how these tools may just help virus writers in the future? I think the writer of the article is going a little overboard, but it's an interesting point. Here's the link http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/security/0,2000061744,39174066,00.htm

There has always been a trade off between easy to use and security. A safe system is one that is locked up in a safe with no access to a network or to humans. I'm not sure how usable it is though. :-) I think the authors are a bit over the top. But of course most of the people they are talking to make money by scaring people about security.
