I wish I’d had a camera this week-end. I almost brought one but decided at the last minute that there would not be anything worth taking a picture of. But I was wrong.
I had a hotel room on the corner of the 17th floor of a hotel. Now where I grew up 17 floors was no big deal but in Philadelphia that is pretty high up. The hotel was 30+ stories BTW. Anyway, I had a great view. I could see over many buildings to the river in the distance. I could look right down along several of the major roads of the city. At 23.00 Saturday night the lights were just fantastic. The traffic and street lights, the lights from the cars (a lot of cars were out), the lights from the stores and shops added up to a wonderful pattern of color. It was quite special.
At 7.00 Sunday morning the streets were empty. The lights from the night before were not visible of course and the contrast from the night before was intense. If I had had the camera with me night and morning pictures would have been just great fun to look at. I wish I could share with you what I saw. Maybe this will teach me to bring the camera along more often.
