Aus Open - 1st Day of Chinese New Year

This is kinda late but better late then never.

Its 12.42pm over in Melb. Back in office, blogging. I only meant to have a quick check on the email but everyone knows the Net can be a real time blackhole.

Anyway, its the first day of the Chinese New Year, with almost
everyone out of town and back in their own home countries. I decided to spend the first day of the Chinese New Year in Melbourne Park to watch the Australia Open (Day 4).

Grab a ground pass for $25 which allows entry to all courts except for Rod Laver Arena.

I decided to spend the day in Vodafone Arena which features Venus William and Roger Federer in the scheduled games. The first game however was Todd Reid vs Sargis Sargsian.

I thought it was going to be a quick game and was a bit frustrated when the game went back and forth on both sides. As the game progressed and the temperature and sun of Melbourne summer began to turn up, so did the pace and the entertainment value of the match up.

Todd and Sargis began to turn up the tempo and began to fight it all out for the game. Esp for Todd who broke his toenail, was puking in between change events and was
noticeably unwell and the heat of the sun plus the length of the match began to take its toil on both sides.

In the end Todd after a long 3hr finally won! That's the beauty of sports! Sports truly reflect the sheer power of the mind over the body.
