Geylang - where I live, is famous in SG for its exciting *ahem* night life and the only decent spot in Singapore for good food after hours. Frog leg porridge, beef kway teow, fish slice noodles, dim sum, roti prata ... anyway ... on to the joke.
Bird Culling to be Conducted at Geylang

In a bid to keep Signapore free from the bird flu, the relatively unknown government arm the AVA (All-Vice Authority) has decided to cull 5000 chickens as a means to test the defence system in place.
The AVA, however, has announced that they intend to target a poultry-high density area: Geylang.
'This time, the exercise will involve mainly the armed forces as well as the police and SCDF. Recent reports have indicated that Thailand has used its military personnel to cull the chickens so as to hone their “killer instincts”. We decided that our soldiers have got enough killer instincts playing Counter-Strike during training but they need some help in their shooting skills so we came up with the idea of conducting this 'shoot-on-sight' operation in Geylang,' said AVA spokesperson Ms Soh Ser Lai, 19.
'This operation will test our operational readiness at cocking our weapons and putting on our, uh, latex protective gear. We've been training very hard at this for the past month with special trips to Thailand to observe their latest culling methods. We have developed new methods of cum... I mean culling such as the “frontal defensive”, “rear offensive positions” and “in fast, out fast”,' said CPL Kumar Sootera, 19, from the 1st Bukit Gorblok Regiment.
The AVA said that the culling operation will take place on 19th Feb and involve all free-range, local and foreign ‘kway’ in the region.
A press statement issued by the Prime Minister's Secretary (PMS) stated that many ministers were 'interested' joining this operation.
