All are 1st Class!
I am a VB.NET developer and I use VB.NET for all my .NET work.
Some people have the wrong perception that VB.NET is the same as VB6. There are things that you can do in C#, but you cant do it in VB. That is a misinformed comment.
VB.NET is a true OO programming language that includes new and improved features such as inheritance, polymorphism, interfaces, and overloading. There are almost no performance issues between Visual Basic .NET and Visual C# .NET. Visual C# .NET may have a few more "power" features such as handling unmanaged code, and Visual Basic .NET may be skewed a little toward ease of use by providing features such as late binding.
Check out this article for details from the source (Knowledge Base) and the white paper too.
Lastly, if you are seriously to know differences between the language specification, check this MSDN site.
So if anyone slams down VB.NET, let them know that they are making a misinformed statement. 'Nuff said. Peace
