Alumni Night and Error 500
I was in the training centre in the afternoon to prepare for my Wed's Web Services class. There were quite a few stuff to setup manually including SQL Server *shudder*. Naturally I encountered issues with Virtual PC, network settings and the scarest part, SQL Server. I need to get into the office early tomorrow to resume the setup, must get the right virtual pc image setup.
Oh Lord, please give me the strength. It felt stressful to prepare to for each class. This is the first time I am teaching this course.
Sometimes I wonder if everything must be so difficult in the beginning or I am inadequate for the task ...

Later in the evening I attended the Monash University Alumni Association of Singapore (MUAAS) - Members Night, held at the Singapore Recreational Club overlooking the Padang.
The newly appointed President of the SG Alumni Assoc - Dato Dr Jannie Tay gave a welcome address to all present, highlighted the need, the purpose and usefulness of such an association like MUAAS. At the end of her address, she also annouced that a new series of dialogue sessions will be starting soon. The Chairman of EDB - Mr Teo Ming Kian will kick start this series (which would be open only to Monash Alumni, naturally). Mr Teo himself was a Monash graduate, you can read about his profile here.
There were a few of the senior Monash graduates here, I think I overheard some mentions and met up with a few senior doctors (medical specialists), bank vice-presidents, and plastic surgeon *grin* and other professionals. Of coures, there were fellow fresh graduates like myself there. I had the pleasure to meet up with some new fresh graduates as well as my old Caulfield friends (Jeremy Soh and Brandon).
Jeremy and I used to live in same residence - International Mews. Jeremy is going to head back to Melbourne to apply for his PR, after serving the reminder of his National Service. Brandon and I were members of the Student Assoc of Singapore back in Melbourne.
I would say almost all the people attended there have done well in their professional life and it was a really nice opportunity to have a chance to meet them and hear from them. One thing I find that is that this event the interactions is more sincere compared to the previous networking event which I attended in Singapore.
I like to talk and meet people, I love hear about people's opinions and experiences. I really enjoy such life-experiences learning sessions. Some of the other things discussed were late night visits to Coles and makan session at 4am.
Later in the evening, there was a lucky draw to conclude the event. I won the 2nd prize, which was a bottle of Riesling from Western Australia.
