Friday aka The Day after the Summit
Arrgh ... first night without the luxurious clean sheets, air-conditioned room and relaxing music in the background ... welcome to "Chateau de Geylang". Welcome to hot sweaty dusty bed even with the fan blasting Number 2. S'pore is getting warmer and more dusty day by day. I can remember very well when I was in secondary school, the fan was always switched to Number 1.
Got up early this morning at 7.00am. Brekky this morning was Sanitarium Up and Go brekky bar (Berry Blast) tasted pretty good and lasted me awhile.
Left home bound for Nanyang Technological University to attend a World Bank recruitment talk. I am going to apply for their Junior Professional Associate. It looks like a career that is a good fit for me. The family and rest of the people, just don't understand. I cannot work in something I am not interested. It's just not in me to work for money. My area of interests are technology, software enginnering, politics and social development. I need to work on something that makes things better, something that benefits the society and not just individual. That was why I applied for positions in the Ministries of Education and Defence and other govt related bodies.
Anyway, along the ride to NTU I saw Delta Goodrem's ("I Can Sing A Rainbow") advertisment for Australia Tourism. It just bring a cheer to my day and fueled my sense of optismism. During the talk as the lead presenter was introducing the World Bank, I thought I picked up an Aussie accent. Later I had a chat with him and found out that he was actually from Melbourne. Cheer number 2.
So what's lineup this weekend? Get back to all the matters I promised to attend to during the Summit, prepared my CV for the World Bank and other two job opportunity. Probably a dip at my local pool beckons ...
Have a good weekend, everyone.
