Today, the extended Microsoft Australia marketing community got together for our first offsite. The idea of getting all the MS employees involved in marketing responsibilities (about 70 of us) first came about during our FY07 company kick off.
The day started with a very sweet note, as the core Tech.Ed team received an award for outstanding cross-team collaboration. As part of the Core Tech.Ed team, I was a recipient of this award too. It had been an absolute privilege and unbelievable learning experience being part of the core Tech.Ed team. I want to take a moment to acknowledge fantastic the learning opportunity (particularly the chance to run Student Day), trust and guidance afforded to me by my manager – Ben English and Tania Netterfield, our experienced and top-notch Events Manager.
Overall, this was a very useful and informative offsite especially the establishment of a formal marketing behavioural framework. It was also a good refresher of the Player-Victim mentality and Commitment materials covered during our company kick off.
I love working in Microsoft, there are always so many opportunities to learn and grow especially under some of the best minds in the industry.
