Last week, I was back in Singapore for the regional academic meeting and this trip nicely coincided my birthday week. It was a really a last minute bonus and it was truly a surprise for me.

Celebration 1 was a get together with my former co-workers from Earth9, we had Japanese paper hot pot and ice-cream cake. Celebration 2 was a family affair in a Korean restaurant with my paternal grandma and I had my favourite white chocolate cheese carrot cake. Celebration 3 was with my closest primary school friends at Din Tai Fung – a Shanghainese Restaurant. Noticed a trend here? All my celebrations are held in restaurants. I’m a Singaporean! We live to eat and we chat about our dinner plans over lunch 

I have a very blessed and a privileged life and I thank God for his generous blessing. This year’s birthday got off with a great start, I wonder what other exciting achievements and experiences are installed?
