Recently I came across an article on the Nov 2006 Wired magazine which narrates the orgins of iPod and the prople behind it. It's interesting to look back at the design decisions behind the product and the group of people who were working on it.
One thing that I got out from the article was how the road to success is often far from as prescriptive as some people would like to plan for it. Often you find a truly unique product forms behinds a few rare birds who have a hybrid of experiences, ideas and background to come up with something really new and innovative.
