Is Gmail Out of Its Beta Program

I wonder if Gmail has concluded its closed beta trial and opening it up to the general public?

Right now on it's Singapore home page (http://www.google.com.sg/), there is a public link to register for your own Gmail account (https://www.google.com/accounts/SmsMailSignup1?loc=SG)?

Does anyone know about Gmail's status right now?

I must say I have been very impresed with Gmail since I first started using it. The Gmail team has continuously added new features and improvements into the product discreetly without much fanfare. Gmail feels fun and it is a constantly engaging product. I think this is one area Microsoft products have not been able to match is the speed Google is releasing new features. Do you have a different opinion?

In my opinion, Google releases frequently with minor updates, whereas Microsoft takes a different approach by relasing improvements by batch basis (beta1, beta2) in a span of several months.

i agree with you on that. i've been a gmail user also ever since i signed up with an account. i've been using that account since day 1, though i still like the hotmail interface better.

the only problem i had with gmail is the restriction with attachments and nothing else.

That's one thing I hate with GMAIL, it's the inability to for it to be used for storage (not unless we RAR the folder or file)
