A 3 Year Milestone - Congrats Franky!
Tuesday, December 05, 2006 11:00 PM

Congratulations to Frank Arrigo, whose blog which just celebrated it's 3rd anniversary, a quick on my blog revealed that I started my blog on the same day as Frank's.

Over the years, my blog roll changed a bit based on my interests but Frank's blog has always remained firm. This is simply because Frank's blog is honest, informative and personal.

Honest - What you read on Frank's blog is pretty much how he is in real life. Passionate about technology, our company, his direct reports and his family.

Informative - Whenever any competitive technology updates or strategic information need to be evaluated, Frank's daily update is like scanning the current IT headlines.

Personal - Frank loves technology and his family and it shows in his blog. Nothing like an honest blogger, true to his roots. Your blog is a public service to the IT community!

trophy

Happy 3rd Year Franky! Keep evolving your blog to greater readership and relevancy.

'Team Monash' hits the streets in Singapore Marathon

Bugger! I'm in Australia but there ain't no alumni event I can attend here in Sydney, instead there was an alumni event back home in Singapore.

This year's jersey looks much better than last year's.

Robert Green Presenting in Sydney .NET User Group
Friday, December 01, 2006 5:53 PM

What a minute! Robert Green, that name's familiar. When I was a VB MVP, Robert Green was the Visual Basic Community Lead. Never did I expect to meet him in person, here in Sydney .NET User Group. Robert was in Sydney to present on "Developing office 2007 Solution with VS Tools for Office Second Edition" (scroll right down). Click on the link for the slides and demos.

Welcome to Sydney, Rob. Hope your wife and you will have a ball here.

The First Day of the Last Month in 2006
Friday, December 01, 2006 2:42 PM

Today marks the last month of 2006.

This has been a remarkable year. I moved from Singapore, back to Australia and along the way got an internship with the DPE Team in Microsoft Australia.

Some dreams do come true after a long route. This internship is nothing sort of an amazing experience, I lead the Microsoft Student Partners program, ran Imagine Cups, handled media personnel, organised Tech.Ed- Student Day, made numerous new professional connections, relationships and friends, and even travelled overseas.

Soon this episode will come to an end, this weekend, I plan to take some time off and to prepare for my new episode in life. First I will kick it off by attending mass on this Sat. Where life will bring me? I'm not sure but I will make every effort to achieve the best outcome for me and hope with divine providence, something good will come along the way.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
- Jeremiah 29:11

Enjoy the rest of 2006, everyone!

Bloggers not a Web 2.0 by-product

My mate, Mr Half-S (another Microsoft employee, sometimes I wonder how many non-MSFT related friends I have) forwarded me this picture.

I wonder what is he implying?

I Just Don't Fly Enuff with SQ
Thursday, November 30, 2006 10:51 PM

I flew with Singapore Airlines throughout my college years in Melbourne, chose to stay in Krisflyer partner hotels and recently to India too but still I don't fly enough points to exchange for a practicable return tix home or move up from basic tier. Instead I'm losing miles every quarter because I don't redeem them fast enough.

I think I want to call it quits and drop my loyalty with SQ and just go for the next cheapest ticket. I reckon its pretty futile to be chasing FF miles. What are some of the experiences you have with your frequent flyer program? Do they have any real value for regular joe like me? Currently I'm enrolled with just Krisflyer (SQ), Asian Miles (CX) and Velocity (DJ) and Dynasty Flyer (CI).

This evening, the new Australia Imagine Cup 2007 blog was launched! I think a blog is the best mechanism to let everyone get up to the minute news about the Imagine Cup.

Check out the first entry where I give a sneak preview of the local competition look and feel.
