Delivery Diversity
Wednesday, April 19, 2006 12:38 PM

It's pretty surprising to me today that I found out that Microsoft actually uses 3 different courier services... I was always expecting that they will use just one, from experiences with SAP (whom constantly sends me stuff via DHL).

I got my MVP welcome kit in DHL, MSDN Suscriber's in Fedex and stuff I purchased from Microsoft Company store via UPS.

Quote of the Day
Tuesday, April 18, 2006 1:00 AM

"A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him."

I guess pretty much that this quote indeed does spell alot in life that we have to know and learn to be successful. We should always welcome criticisms and improve from there, instead of shunning from it and trying to persuade others that you're good (unless you genuinely know that he's doing that on purpose, then you can try to find out why he is doing it and try to handle the situation well enough that he will no longer want to do such a thing =D )

My trip to Seattle for a period of 5 months had just been confirmed today. Would be going there starting June to work on a Healthcare system at Philips Medical for a period of 5 months. It sure is going to be a great experience for me to work on such a major system. =)

Window's Growing
Sunday, April 16, 2006 12:40 PM

Graph of market share for top servers across all domains, August 1995 - April 2006

For the first time in many years, I have actually seent he Apache usage dropping and Microsoft Servers growing. It seems that Apache is dropping sharply and Microsoft is rising sharply. This's an excellent news to hear. This means that more servers are .NET ready. =)

Proud to say that I too had changed my server from a Linux based to a Windows 2003 .NET 2.0 based. =)

Calendar.Google.com
Friday, April 14, 2006 7:17 PM

Now with calendar.google.com, you could add a shedule by typing "meeting with thomas on tuesday at 8am". It would automatically be added into the correct slot in the calendar and "Meeting with Thomas" as the subject.

This's a pretty neat feature. Wondering if this feature might be considered in the release of Outlook12.

5 ways to get rich
Friday, April 14, 2006 7:00 PM

Just received a newsletter from Brian Tracy this morning.

The 5 ways are:

  1. You can inherit it.
  2. Achieve it professionally
  3. Become a senior executive of a large corporation
  4. Win it
  5. Start your own business and earn it all by yourself (Best way)

Action Exercises
Now, here are two things you can do immediately to put yourself onto the high road to personal wealth:

First, resolve today to begin saving your money a little bit at a time. Set a goal to save 10% of your earnings, to put it away and to never touch it. This will change your life.

Second, immediately register your own business or sole proprietorship. Open a bank account, get business cards and letterhead and create the corporate entity under which you can do business. Your business opportunities will appear far sooner than you think. If you build it, they will come.

Google Toolbar Beta
Thursday, April 13, 2006 12:25 PM

The google toolbar beta looks extremely cool! The new search feature seems to have this wonderful feature of auto complete kinda scenario. When you type in a search, it seems to have a list of possible things that you might be searching for. It's really helpful when you are searching for a really long string. So all you have to do is to click on what you wanted, and it would fetch the results for you.

There's this new bookmark and mail checker feature too! You no longer need to login to GMail to check your mail every non and then. It would automatically turn red if there's mail and when you click on the icon, it would take you in to your inbox. Should you always format your computer (like myself), the bookmark feature seems extremely cool! No longer have to backup my favourites list. =)
