Inquirer coverage; paper presentations

The Inquirer covered published an article and a picture of the finalists and winners of the DGF Food Writing competiton.  Here's a link to the article online. Sorry, it doesn't include a picture.

Today's paper presentations were very well received.  There were a lot of questions from the group and lots of people took down the URLs where they could use or download the software.  Lots of people lined up to copy Elgine and Carolyn's module.

I keep thinking this niche area--simulations for basic education--is something Ateneo can really pursue.  The applications are useful, practical, and curriculum-based.  I think our students have a lot to contribute to basic education by creating modules like these more systematically.  Hmm... do I detect a research group forming?  Now if I can only get funding...

regarding funding for certain "projects"... you might want to check this out... http://panibagongparaan.com/projects-guidelines.html

since the "project" would revolve around children and education, it might fit into one of the categories.

the deadline is really soon though, but there's always next year. :D

hmmm... research group...?
