The past couple of days have brought me face-to-face with several funeral superstitions.  I'm not a superstitious person.  However, I believe that these superstitions probably started off with a rationale.  If you know the rationale, please let me know.

• Guests are not supposed to say goodbye to the bereaved.
• The bereaved should not bring guests to the door.
• Guests should not take home any food from the funeral.

And then someone brought us a tray of raw eggs.  Was this just good will or is there a superstition attached to this?
