I may have mentioned in previous blog posts that we're hosting the first-ever DISCS Programming Open.  This is an internal, individual programming competition open to any and all Ateneo undergraduates.  The champion gets a P5,000 cash prize.

The deadline for registration was last Friday.  However, as of the close of office hourse, we only had 10 registrants.  We therefore extended the registration deadline to this Friday. Furthermore, we brought out our secret weapon: bonus points! 

Doc Manalastas is offering 5 to 10 points (he hasn't decided how many), applicable to the midterm exam, for every problem solved.  As of yesterday, more and more people came to the Department picking up registration forms.  I hope they join!
