You know you're watching too much TV when you can compare just about everything that happens in your life with something that happened on the tube. I love TV. Always have. Long before the dawn of BitTorrent, a cousin of mine in the US would tape Star Trek for me. He even edited out the commercials. He'd send me the tapes everytime a relative goes from there to here. One rainy weekend, an aunt sent me a stash together with the biggest lamb gyros I ever saw in my life. I sat in front of the TV for hours, devouring both the gyros and the Star Trek episodes--it was a perfect weekend. So TV is an addiction, it truly is.
I remember one episode of DS9 when Benjamin Sisko discovered a sacred relic of The Prophets. He was so tormented by it that, despite it's sacredness, he smashed it. In doing so, he unleashed something that was really meant to be unleashed. He ended up fulfilling part of his destiny.
I won't pretend to have the same divine destiny. However, do feel that, recently, I did fracture something. I did unleash something. And destructive as it was, perhaps it's for the best. Perhaps it needed to happen to pave the way for something better. Only time will tell.
