Years ago, I was a big Ally McBeal fan. One of the ideas that I found both cute and true was the notion of having a theme song. In a study done by Dr. Emy Liwag among our grade school and high school students, she found that our boys turn to music when they have problems. There really is something very therapeutic about having someone sing to you about precisely what you feel. When your own words fail, someone else's are often better.
My own theme song nowadays is the Pilgrim's Theme (Greater Scheme of Things), lyrics by Johnny Go, S.J. and music by Manoling Francisco, S.J. It was between this and Not Ready to Make Nice by the Dixie Chicks. The former sounded more positive, more hopeful.
Do you have a theme song?
