I've said before that I'm not a reality TV fan. Yesterday, though, we caught two reality TV shows. One was called Australian Princess. The other was Any Dream Will Do.
Australian Pricess was the proverbial "turning of a sow's ear into a silk purse." In other words, taking a regular Australian girl and turning her into a princess. What was interesting about Australian Princess was that it actually did rope in actual royals to participate in the various tasks. I just wonder what would motivate these royals agree to participate. Was it just good sportsmanship, good PR...?
Any Dream Will Do was essentially an audition for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat of Andrew Lloyd Webber. What was interesting about this one was that the contestants were all incredibly talented--able to sing, dance and act--and that Andrew Lloyd Webber was one of the judges.
I'm not hooked on Australian Princess, but Any Dream Will Do is pretty compelling. Maybe there's a reality TV fan lurking inside me after all.
