Tausi came back from the vet yesterday. She has worms! Some deworming medications took care of the problem. She's back to normal. Thank you, LJ, for your good wishes.

I have one more out of town trip before the ACM ICPC and then my reentry into Ateneo and admin life. There's a part of me that's still in denial--as if the upcoming work doesn't exist. Still, I'm trying to warm up. Reena and I are supposed to sit down after the ICPC so that she can turn things over to me again. It'll be real then.

During yesterday's meeting, one of my colleagues flashed a graph that showed the scientists peak in their 30s. After 40, it's all downhill. Similar sentiments were published in the Boston Globe, adding that marriage is one of the culprits for the decline.
Studies like these, while I see their point, worry me. I'm approaching 40 and I don't think I've reached my peak yet--or at least I hope I haven't. I'm still optimistic that the best is yet to come.
