Thanks, everyone, for your good wishes and reminders to keep safe.  Yes, now I know better. However, I can say that that was the only bad thing that happened during the trip.  My family is well. I'm safe. 

My whole life I've been a victim of crime maybe five times.  Each time, I'm happy to say, was non-violent and non-confrontational.  I'd just notice that some property was missing. That was it.  I consider myself lucky.  Some of my friends have experienced much worse. So, if it's just property that was lost, I can live with that.
