I will give the people involved in the latest coup attempts the benefit of the doubt and say that they are idealists. That's about as charitable as I'm going to get.
So here's the thing, from my perspective: Government and our governing systems, imperfect as they are, are there to keep order. There are systems and procedures for grievances. These sort of extraconstitutional events only bring chaos and anarchy, none of which is healthy on any level.
From my own humble perspective, I really, truly pity our students, most especially our seniors. There's enough pressure heaped on their heads. The days off don't actually help--at least I don't think they do. Rather, they only prolong the agony and increase the pressure on them for these last remaining days.
Sorry if that sounds selfish and narrow-minded. I'm just really annoyed right now.
