I wrapped up CS 21 a class yesterday. They still have a final programming assignment and a final exam but we don't have any more lectures.
I always try to end my classes by saying something personal. I'm not into long speeches, so I keep my goodbyes short and sweet. Here's more or less what I said:
I know that the sem has been difficult for some of you. The class is difficult. The course, computer science, is difficult. We told you that during the open house and during the freshman orientation. It's not going to be easy. But that's why we chose you. Because you're special. You have the talent to get through this. And we will always be here to help you.
Sniff. :)
