Several months back, I caught an "entertainment documentary" entitled The Tipping Point. It talked about people or fads that were teetering at the brink of big time success for years but kept hitting a glass ceiling. Finally, something--the tipping point--happens to shatter the glass ceiling, and their careers or popularity zoom off to the stratosphere.
The point to me is one that Fr. Ben often likes to make--opportunity meeting preparedness. We can ready ourselves for great things, but "greater" is a two-way street. We choose to say yes to opportunities, but opportunities have to be offered to us first. I'm sure we all have aspects of our lives that seem ripe for a tipping point. With each opportunity that comes our way, we wonder: could this be it?
