Non-fiction narratives

To Alfred: Yes, it is interesting to read about history from different perspectives.  It underscores the point that history is relative. I heard from a colleague that some universities outside the Philippines are abolishing their history department and establishing departments of "non-fiction narratives" in their place.

One of Dr. Alam's points yesterday was that Bill Gates has the largest collection of visual materials in the world.  He said that, while it is in one sense good that there is someone safeguarding visual materials, it is frightening to think that a single individual will control what may well be the world's visual history.
