To Alfred: I'm shocked to learn that high school is already too late. Perhaps American teenagers come of age earlier than their Filipino counterparts. If you have any tips about evangelizing at the earlier grade levels, please share them (assuming they're not confidential, of course).

We sent out a call for applicants for our commando team. I'm delighted to say that 17 people applied. Some of our best students threw their hats in the ring. If there were enough work to go around, I'd "hire" them all--the more, the merrier. However, I really don't think we can make productive use of 17 people. I'm thinking maybe 6 will be enough. It's nice to know, though, that there is a second line we can tap in case the work starts to overflow.
We're scheduling interviews for all of them this Thursday. I'm really not sure yet about what I want to ask. I have some idea about what I want to say--
On the topic of "best students," I just want to say that we're not looking for the people with the highest grades. More than anything, we're looking for people who are willing to work together as a team and who are pleasant without being pushovers.
On the nature of the work, one of the things I have to explain to the team is that they are crossing over to the business side of the department. There's the academic side where failure only hurts the failee. There's the extracurricular side where everything is optional and voluntary and there is no such thing as failiure. Finally, there's the business side where failure is not an option.
I still have to figure out the questions.
