Thank you, Alfred, for the congratulations!

The good news spilled over to today:  the Commission on Higher Education (the Philippines' regulatory body for tertiary ed) just declared DISCS a Center of Excellence in information technology!  This is the highest level of recognition that the CHED gives. They have awarded COE status to many departments in the Ateneo.  It was only last year that they opened up applications for COE status for the field of IT.  We applied and we got it!

I have to thank all the faculty and the staff for their hard work. This was a team effort.  We got here together. 

I also have to thank our student assistants, Krizia, Kate, Erin, and Justin, for preparing such excellent documentation.

Finally, I have to single out Dr. Luis Sarmenta.  He is really the one responsible for bringing in our high-profile, high-impact projects.  He is the one who hit the high notes for us, and for this I am really grateful.
