In der MSDN gibts es einen schönen Artikel über Addons die der Entwickler für Visual Studio 2005 haben sollten

Nette Sachen wie Ghost Doc, Smart Paster um Methoden zu dokumentieren bzw. Code/Text schön formatiert einzufügen. Oder PInvoke.net um sich von der Seite pinvoke.net die Signaturen für den Aufruf von native Code zu holen.

Kurz: Rein schaun.

Miranda - ICQ Probleme

Für alle die Miranda als Messenger benutzen und Empfang/Sende Probleme mit ICQ haben. Sollten schnell ihr ICQ Plugin upgraden. Mit Version 3.5.3 ist das Problem behoben.

Today(better: yesterday) was a nice day. My licence for ERPConnect.net arrived.

The developement company Theobald Software GmbH has sponsored the licence for non-commercial usage.
This .NET component allows you to access a SAP R/3 Enterprise with more possibilities than the SAP .NET Connector 2.0 , e.g. dynamic ABAP code upload and execution, direct RFC table read, sending & receiving IDoc's, etc. .
I plan to make a presentation and maybe a article series with the topic "SAP R/3 - .NET Integration".

So stay tune. ;-)

Please writes some comments in which topics are you interessting ?
- .NET Applications as Server / as Client
- IDoc receice/send
- RFC calls from/to SAP
- etc. (own wishes ??? )

Unter Windows 2003 mit SP1 ist es möglich, die Dateien und Ordner in den Freigaben auszublenden für die man keine Rechte hat. :-)

FormsAuthentication mit Timeout

Durch Zufall bin ich auf eine nette Erweiterung für die FormsAuthentication unter ASP.NET gestossen. Karsten Samaschke beschreibt die Lösung in C# und Visual Basic.

New BartPE available

Last week a new version of BartPE was released. Last time i've download BartPE, i think it was 3.1.4. So i talking about the improvments since 3.1.4 ;-)
Here are the main improvements:

Added items:
- pluginstarwind ( ISCSI target [server] Btk ;-) )
- plugindeepburner ( burning software )
- pe2usb.cmd: this installs BartPE to USB Flash Drive using setupldr from w2ksp1 with a ramdisk-bootstrap-loader.
- Added language autodetect

Removed items:
- Removed the firefox plugin, instead of this a new "ready to use" plugin has been created as a separate download. Check the PE Builder page for this.

SAP ABAP Web Application Server (WAS)

Last week Markus decided to download the new SAP ABAP Web Application Server. The litte download was only 5,5 GByte. After a while of downloading @ X-Case, TC(the network provider guy) is running up and down the floor and call something like "We are under attack." .

Personal opinion:
Yes, ABAP is some kind of attack for every programmer how like OO-Programming and have fun @coding. Their are some languages that are very bad and should be discontinued. ABAP is the top of the hill of these languages.

( ... at a FeM Port, ;-) Knobi ). To turn off the netzwork connection (disable it) is the right decision if your computer is connected to a switch port with some mac adress security, because the vpc is acting like a real physical switch.

So now, the setup Step by Step:

1. install VPC 2004

2. then install the VPC 2004 SP1. This service pack is very important, because it increasing the performance of the virtual machines. You can download the SP1 here.

3. last but not least, we need to using the up-to-date virtual pc additions. The result is that MS Windows Server 2003 SP1 is running very well inside the vpc. Download is here.

On december, the 22th, i've passed the exam for Microsoft Certified Professional(MCP). Now i have a MCP for "Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition" (72-229).
That's a nice gift before christmas.

VEB Film Leipzig: Die letzte Droge

Nach Route66 produzieren die Jungs jetzt "Die letzte Droge" (in HD). Und nein ich nehme keine Drogen (proaktive Antwort meinerseits ;-) ).

"Worum gehts?

Drei Gefährten durchqueren Südamerika auf der Suche nach einem seltenen Halluzinogen der Schamanen. Der Selbstversuch eskaliert...
Ein zynischer Ausflug in die Dritte und Vierte Welt, basierend auf einer wahren Begebenheit."

Der Film ist leider noch nicht fertig. Wer wissen will, wann er fertig ist, kann sich auf der Webseite anmelden. Das Drehbuch gibts dort auch als PDF. Und wem das immer noch nicht an Infos reicht, dann ab in den Blog und zur Webcam.

Fazit: Bin mal gespannt was rauskommt, wenns fertig ist.

Windows Server 2003 R2

Seit dem 7. November regnete es förmlich neue Releases bei Microsoft. Nachdem der SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, BizTalk Server 2006 und vor ein paar Tagen der Virtual Server 2005 R2 "veröffentlicht" wurden, gibts jetzt vom Windows Server 2003 die R2 ( Release 2 ) Version.

Ein paar Features werden im Windows Server Division Weblog genannt:

Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) (Kurzfassung: Firmen können Active Directory Services über Unternehmensgrenzen hinaus einsetzen)
Storage management( Erweiterungen um: file screening, customizable reporting, directory-based quotas)
"neues" Protokoll zur Datei Replikation (DFS-R)

Die hier aufgeführten "neuen" Funktionen sind nur ein Teil der Änderungen und Verbesserungen. Mehr Infos gibts hier.

Trotz der Änderungen werden Windows Server 2003 und Windows Server 2003 R2 unter einen Servicebaum geführt, d.h. es gibt "einheitliche" Updates für beide Releases.
"This means that there will be one set of Service Packs and patches that can be applied to both Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2 boxes."
