Così Raffaele ha difeso in modo simpatico Microsoft come al solito oggetto di accuse poco (o per niente) motivate.

La sessione di oggi pomeriggio è stata molto interessante e ampiamente apprezzata dai pochi (ma buoni) partecipanti del Security Tour al Politecnico di Torino.

Nella scaletta odierna sono stati citati ProjectOZ, Windows Research Kernel; sono stati affrontati i temi scottanti della sicurezza dei processi e delle applicazioni, fornendo demo di (quasi) tutti i fantastici tool di SysInternals.

Anche se -come riporta giustamente Raffaele- alla fine basta una barretta di cioccolato per far andare in tilt qualsiasi sistema di sicurezza...

Dopo una lunga attesa...finalmente stanno uscendo un po' per volta i risultati degli esami BETA. Con grande gioia ho appena appreso di aver passato il

70-526 (TS: MS .NET Framework 2.0- Windows Based Client Development)

70-528 (TS: MS .NET Framework 2.0-Web-based Client Development)

Non abbastanza per diventare MCTS (ci credete che aspetto ancora il risultato dell'esame beta 71-536 che ho dato a dicembre 2005?)...Tra un mese si saprà inoltre l'esito degli esami della serie PRO, a mio avviso i più divertenti.

Il mio consiglio per i posteri che sosterranno questi esami è: arrivate con un bel bagaglio di esperienza, ma anche una sbirciatina agli argomenti più obsoleti e remoti. L'MSDN Library contiene tutto lo scibile per passare questi esami. Buona fortuna!

PS: un grazie speciale va a Lorenzo per aver eseguito nella mia testa il comando AsyncSostieniEsami.bat

Windows Live Messenger continua ad evolversi...e a sfornare nuove beta. L'ultima release è la 8.0.0683, disponibile ESCLUSIVAMENTE all'interno di Microsoft. E su Google. Non chiedetemi per favore come,dove,quando e perchè: la risposta ve la può dare Google.

Tra le feature veramente degne di menzione c'è la possibilità di scrivere Plug-in Managed! Finalmente potremo aggiungere a Msn la funzione segretaria...

Delusi da Msn 8? Forse non avete ancora visto tutto...

Qualche settimana fa mi ero lamentato del fatto che molti dei nuovi servizi di MSN 8 fossero stati abilitati solo in paesi != Italia.

Come fare quindi ad usare le Shared Folder, a fare chiamate telefoniche tramite Msn, a vedere i video giornalieri, ... ?
Semplice, basta cambiare la Nazionalità nel profilo personale!

In particolare dovete:
1) Eseguire il login (con l'account che usate su Msn) su questo sito: http://passport.net . Se usate account non hotmail dovete prima verificare i vostri indirizzi qui: http://accountservices.msn.com/
2) Selezionare "Dati dell'account"
3) Selezionare "Modifica i dati personali"
4) Cambiare la propria Località di residenza. Vi conviene impostare Stati Uniti, visto che tutto parte sempre da lì...
5) Salvate le modifiche. Dal prossimo Login su Messenger troverete tutte le nuove funzionalità....

...e sarà tutta un'altra storia :)

Come segnala Corrado è stato programmato in questi giorni il rilascio di un service pack per visual studio 2005 (e visto che ci sono anche per la versione 2003).

La notizia da un lato non mi spaventa: il service pack si riferisce a Visual Studio, non al framwork .Net che di per sè è già stabile e perfettamente funzionante dalla beta 1...

Dall'altro mi spiace un po' perchè mi fa pensare alla remota possibilità di incontrare qualche piccolissimo bug usando vs nei prossimi mesi.

Attenzione: niente di spaventosamente deplorevole e fastidioso. Visual studio è un ottimo strumento e anche al 50% fa un lavoro egregio, unico nel suo genere, vi auguro di provarlo per rendervene conto...

Spero che qualcuno (dal pianeta Linux) non approfittino della notizia per sostenere il predominio di altri prodotti.... :)

ps: per la par condicio, secondo voi Eclipse starà a guardare ad occhi chiusi la piattaforma 2005?
