Firefox team accepts Microsoft help

Microsoft has lent their hand to Mozilla to help it to work well in the new Microsoft Operation system - Windows Vista. This move is bit surprising even though I did support their recent openess to open source software. Their new open source lab has being a big step in their work towards open source. All the mozilla fans out there would be very happy about this move by Microsoft.

Very excited!!!

Well, apart from that it's good publicity for Microsoft, fact remains that Microsoft isn't earning top dollar on IE as it is. This is because it's being bundled (to this moment) with Windows. Because FireFox is gaining in popularity and makes a great substitute for IE in most cases (TheSpoke still messes up badly if I enter with FF though), it saves quite some money in development in comparison to developing IE, not to mention that people are more likely to stay with Windows this way.
But without going on the regular Microsoft bashing routine that many people do, I think this could be a great step towards more customer satisfaction.

For Microsoft the key piece is Windows and IE is just a piece of that. IF people are going to use other browsers it is in Microsoft's best interest for those users to have a good experience. Helping the FireFox people get ready for Vista is good for everyone. I see no lossers in this deal.
