First Day of Internship
First day of internship.
I came in early, around a little before 8:00am and was briefed about the internship program. I was asked to read the company policies and procedures then afterwards, I was asked to sign a contract regarding my internship.
Then it started - I was introduced to "CATS" which is an internal Siemens project they use in deployment of client and desktop operating systems into the user terminals. I was directed to read some information on how to use it at the Standard Client Central Service website that they have and was later demonstrated just how to use it. It has lots of features and it is based on technologies like the Windows PE and RIS.
I was also given a thin client PC, and it's my first time to actually see and experience a computer that boots up and loads Terminal Services of Windows Server 2003 automatically through RDP, which is cool.
Later, in the afternoon, I was asked to set up a domain controller from an ntbackup copy because we will be having a "fire-drill" to test the redundancy and readiness of the systems in case of emergency which will be done sometime early next week.
Take care Spokedom!
