First Mid-Autumn Moon Festival
Saturday, September 17, 2005 11:17 PM

ho-hum... i can't sleep in this racket!!! don't get me wrong... i'm happy about this chinese festival but why did they have to have a concert beside our house?!? it's not like the band is THAT good... the vocalist did a so-so version of "The Day You Said Good Night" by Hale... i am soooooooooooooo sleepy but i know i won't be able to begin my journey to dreamland any time soon.  here i am, spending probably the next two hours in front of the computer. i might as well post something about the history of the Moon Festival...^_^

The Moon Festival (http://chineseculture.about.com/library/weekly/aa093097.htm)

The Chinese Moon Festival is on the 15th of the 8th lunar month. It's also known as the Mid-autumn Festival. Chinese culture is deeply imbedded in traditional festivals. Just like Christmas and Thanksgiving in the West, the Moon Festival is one of the most important traditional events for the Chinese.

The Moon Festival is full of legendary stories. Legend says that Chang Er flew to the moon, where she has lived ever since. You might see her dancing on the moon during the Moon Festival. The Moon Festival is also an occasion for family reunions. When the full moon rises, families get together to watch the full moon, eat moon cakes, and sing moon poems. With the full moon, the legend, the family and the poems, you can't help thinking that this is really a perfect world. That is why the Chinese are so fond of the Moon Festival.

The Moon Festival is also a romantic one. A perfect night for the festival is if it is a quiet night without a silk of cloud and with a little mild breeze from the sea. Lovers spend such a romatic night together tasting the delicious moon cake with some wine while watching the full moon. Even for a couple who can't be together, they can still enjoy the night by watching the moon at the same time so it seems that they are together at that hour. A great number of poetry has been devoted to this romantic festival. Hope the Moon Festival will bring you happiness.

The moon cake is the food for the Moon Festival. The Chinese eat the moon cake at night with the full moon in the sky.

hmm... we don't do most of these but we do the eating of moon cakes. hehe! it is nice to think that people get together at times like this. do you think werewolves are also having a get-together at this time? boy, i'd like to see that... in the distance... as far away as possible... i could use binoculars. har-har... you see what the band is doing to me? i'm babbling away... i can't stop. i have many more nonsense i can share. if ever you hear about a group of musicians maimed single-handledly by a woman, you know who's the guilty party. SOMEBODY MAKE THEM STOP!!! or else i will... ~_~

Sunday...just another day...
Sunday, September 04, 2005 5:54 PM

it's been a while since my last visit here and i was surprised to see that changes have been made. they're ok... i just need to get used to them ^^

anyway, it's a typical Sunday--one whole day of lounging around the house. hehehe! tomorrow will be a start of another tiring week. work is not so intellectually challenging 'cause it's more physically and emotionally challenging. haha! it's physically challenging because i move around a lot, keeping up with time. it's emotionally challenging because sometimes you restrain yourself from wringing your clients' necks... eheheh! i'm just glad that the "problems" end in the work place. i don't have to worry when i get home... ^^

hmm.. today is a deep pink day for me. dunno why... today is just too boring... maybe a little deep pink will lighten up the day... LOL

tc and God bless everyone! i'm glad to be back... ^^

Nyoy Volante and Nina with the Mannos had a concert last night at The Venue, Davao City. They are really good at their craft and I had a great time. I watched it with my sister and my bf and we we're seated near the stage. My bf and I took numerous shots. I'm so glad that my bro's digicam had a 6x zoom feature. hehe! I'll post some pics next time... hehehe i still have to edit the size, that's why.

Happy Kadayaw Festival! ^_^
God bless everyone and tc! mwah!

it's been a long time... ^^
Tuesday, August 16, 2005 2:42 PM
hi everyone! i've noticed that i haven't blogged lately... hmm... i guess i ran out of stories or i'm just too lazy to blog. haha!

so, what's up with me these past month? i was in Manila for two weeks for our job training. it was short but fun. i never knew complete strangers could be the best of friends over a couple of days. i already miss the times spent together---frantically crossing streets on the way to work, riding the jeepney to Glorietta, embarking on the MRT, walking along EDSA, where the worst pollution is, to ride a jeepney to Greenhills and sharing horror stories just to scare ourselves silly. *sigh* i wish our training could've lasted longer... i wonder when can we all be together again?

life goes on here in Davao. it's my third week at work and i like it very much. i don't have to worry about requirements or projects during the night. i can relax... and the compensation is good. it's not really that big but it's a decent living ^_^

most of my batchmates are also working and living in other provinces. i still can't believe it. how time flies when you're having so much fun... i know it's a way of life but i'm glad we still manage to keep in touch. i can't wait for December when they can spend their Christmas here. i miss those guys... even if i'm not around to look after them, i know they will always be reminded that i'm here... ^^

it's good to be back! God bless everyone! tc!

sty... (_~_)
Tuesday, July 05, 2005 12:01 PM
it's annoying, it's irritating, it's itchy and it's cure costs a lot... i hope it will be gone before my training. i feel like i have a black eye. *sigh* the doctor's assistant laughed at me when i called the sty, bujinggit. hey... i got that from dukz. it sounds kinda cute though. hehehe... i was prescribed to take 4 antibiotic capsules/day for one week. each capsule cost about 14php O_o but i saved some money 'cause my doctor gave me discount coupon. that's nice of the manufacturer.... haha!

anyway, that's it. i pray that it will be gone soon... *sigh* take care! stay healthy!

War of the Worlds overdose
Sunday, July 03, 2005 4:05 PM
I watched it for the third time today and it is still a disappointment. why did i watch it three times? Well, my first time was with friends and we were all very excited about it. Little did we know that we got so excited over something not that good. The second time was with my sister and it was one of those annoying viewing experiences. The people seated at the back kept stomping (or thumping) their feet at the back of my chair and the lady seated beside me didn't have the courtesy to silent her mobile phone. My patience was hanging by a thread but i managed to keep it together 'til the end of the movie. The third and gratefully, the last time, was with Louie. Actually, i didn't mind 'cause i was with him... nyehehe!

There a lot of disturbing scenes in the movie but it didn't involve the aliens. It was the human behavior. Remember the scene where Rey Ferrier and his two children were driving near the Hudson Ferry? The other people scrambled towards the car and even used force to get a ride. I know it was out of desperation but it was a very pitiful sight. They were like animals. I hope I won't experience that.

When you focus on each scene, you get really affected. We are living in a dog-eat-dog world--we have to be strong, determined and at times dirty. Let's face it, we've had our share of bad doings--lying, cheating, conniving, ruining others' lives for our own betterment. It's sick but it's reality. Having said this, the movie wasn't that disappointing after all. The "wow" wasn't there but the "oh..." was there. It somehow opened my eyes to yet another complexity in life and I still have to understand it even if it takes my whole lifetime.

too busy to blog?
Thursday, June 30, 2005 3:35 PM
not really... i ran short of "interesting" topics and stories. also, i am addicted to our class forum that after "visiting" it, i have nothing more to say in my entries. we talked about anything but the most happening topic is about the GloriaGate tape. *sigh* don't even get me started... our country is in deep, deep shhht. well, it's been that way for years now but this is the first time wherein i got really concerned. i do have opinions about the issue and i am a concerned citizen after all. another check mark for self-discovery! ^_^

does this mean i am old? i am mature? haha! well, good. at least i'm exercising those brain cells while i still don't have a job. can you believe that? i'm talking about adult stuff. gone are the days when it's alright to have no worries. i'm not afraid, i'm actually excited. i'm embarking on a new stage of life. some of my friends are going through it already. do they realize that their life is changing? i guess so... still it's nice to get together and talk about the good old days. like tomorrow, we're going to watch War of the Worlds and play games at the arcade. yeah, that's our "nightout" and i'm looking forward to it. i'm glad i'm not really a party girl. this is way better than spending most of your time screaming in each other's ear. i do go to bars sometimes, like once a year! haha! call me a homebody.. that's fine with me. hehe.. later! ^_^

Random Ramblings
Sunday, June 26, 2005 10:38 AM
It's been quite a while since my last blog entry. I'm having a hard time to come up with one 'cause I don't have anything to say. Well, what have I been up to these past few weeks? Job hunting, exam, interviews and taking care of pre-employment requirements. Yes, I went through the dreaded medical check-up. Yes, I went through fecalysis. Yes, you read it right. I'm talking about poop. It was a gross experience and i'm glad i'm through with it. Still, I'm not done with the drug test and complete physical check-up. *sigh* The things you have to go through for a job. But it's very, very, very ok with me. It's better than staying at home and doing nothing--just waiting those brain cells to disintegrate.

Today, some of those cells were wasted alright. I have to arrange our vacation photos in an album but I got lazy. tsk...tsk... You'll be glad to know that I'll begin with the task after I finish this entry ^_^ I promise. Hehehe...

So, that's what I've been up to. I hope I can go out with my friends this week. I miss them... We're in the same city and yet we don't see each other anymore. Oh well, we all have separate lives to lead. ciao!

Just Art
Friday, June 10, 2005 5:37 PM
Here's a little something i did...err...yesterday. One night, I felt like drawing again and one afternoon, I felt like bringing it to life in colors. I don't know what drove me to create this and I have no idea what I'm trying to mean. Hehehe... Maybe it's a mixture of longing and sadness...and maybe worry.

I did it using Adobe Photoshop CS. It's still an amateur's work so please bear with it ^_^ Hehe... If you have a title in mind, don't hesitate to share. Uhm, enjoy...?

Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Thursday, June 09, 2005 4:38 PM
"Wow", it's all that I can say about the new movie of Brad Pitt (*wubs*) and Angelina Jolie. I saw it just tonight with my friend, g.a. I was too chicken to go with dru, bele, paui and kim to watch Amityville Horror. Flicks like those are not my kind of thing.

The movie was the best. I like everything about it. The chemistry between Brad and Angelina was captivating. My jaw dropped a couple of times and G.A. never failed to lift it. Hehe! I would definitely buy a cd/dvd of this movie...and it's not pirated. *sigh* I could not get over Brad Pitt... Darn! He looks so handsome with every wardrobe, even when he only had a shirt and boxers on. *sigh* *wub*

So guys, watch it. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is really worth the movie fee and amusement tax. I would like to see Brad and Angelina again in another movie. They're really good... *drool* haha!

Anyway, I better shut up and let you decide for yourself if your with me or against me. Vavoo! ^_^

My first pay and the on-going job hunt
Wednesday, June 08, 2005 3:19 AM
I have my first pay! I have my first pay! Hehehe nothing serious though... I was also an exam proctor for the Nursing Licensure Examination last June 5-6. Although we were paid minimum wage, I was happy 'cause I earned something. And to show how shallow I am, I'm going to give my first earnings to my mom (Awww.... ^_^). Haha! So babaw...

I enjoyed being a proctor 'cause the examinees respect you. Haha! They listen intently whenever I give out instructions. I never had that much audience...well...I never did have an audience. Lol! It was also awkward to be referred to as "Ma'am" (Excuse me, I'm a "Sir"! Joke!) and I would talk to them with "po" and "opo". Really weird... I mean some of the examinees where way older than me. I even had an examinee who could be my father. Poor fella... He was always the last one to finish.

*sigh* The on-going job hunt... I had an exam yesterday with a bank. The Sales Exam was the most difficult for me. Durr... I'm a Computer Science graduate. I don't know if there are rules/approach of selling that you can learn in school. I just used my common sense (the most common it can get... hehehe). I hope I did well there...

There was also the "complete-the-sentence" exam. One of which started with "In case of"... I ended it with, "fire, please proceed to the nearest exit". Lol! It was the first thing that popped into my mind! Maybe I was just tired of thinking too hard. I hope the HR people won't make fun of me because of that.

Meanwhile, I'll continue with my life as a "bum". Ciao everyone! God bless ^_^

Get Me
Thursday, June 02, 2005 4:06 PM
I first heard this song at my cousin, mae-an's, blog site. I fell in love with it in a snap! I just want to share the lyrics to you and maybe you'll love it too ^_^

Get Me

Artist - Mymp

Album - Beyond Acoustic

You know that you are always in my mind, in my heart, in my soul
And everywhere that I can think of

You know that I will always be just fine
I'm okay, I'm alright, I am superb
And everything that I can think of

refrain
But not really and I am sorry
'Cause you're not here, lying next to me

chorus
So c'mon and get me, get me, get me
Baby I'm yours c'mon and get me
You'll never be lonely, lonely, lonely
So baby... c'mon and get me

You know that I have always dreamed of you, only you, in the day, in the night
Every waking hour of my life
(Repeat refrain & chorus)
(ad lib)
(Repeat refrain & chorus)

You know that I will always be just fine
I'm okay, I'm alright, I am superb
And everything that I can think of
(Repeat refrain & chorus)

C'mon and get me, get me, get me
Baby I'm yours c'mon and get me
You'll never be lonely, lonely, lonely
So baby... c'mon and get me
C'mon and get me, c'mon and get me

hehehe... sounds a little desperate? heheh i like the tune. click here to download the song ^_^ enjoy!
