faculty-students issue

What would be an appropriate action if students started complaining that a co-teacher has this habit of borrowing money from them? I’m not in the position to talk to the person and our department head is not aware of it.

Yikes, that's a dicey situation. Perhaps it would be best to mention it to someone who is in a position to talk to your co-teacher, perhaps a good friend or a close colleague to get the facts first--how long has this been going on? How much money was borrowed? From how many students? It might also help to find out exactly why this co-teacher needs to borrow--is he/she in a financial crisis?

It may be possible to settle the matter quietly, but if the situation is severe, it might have to be elevated to a higher authority.

I think I know somebody like that. He was a friend of mine wo after graduation workd for our alma matter. Actually I not sure if he was really borrowing money from his students, I just heard it from one of his student.

I told that student to confront him and that was the last I heard of it. I don't know what they did, but everything came out fine.
