I had a theology teacher during second year high school who gave us a questionnaire something like assessment to our Christianity (I graduated in a Catholic school). I remember sharing answers with my classmates and everybody answered their best except, I can’t answer one question really well. And that is, “Do you forgive a person who does wrongly towards you?”. I approached my teacher and asked her if I can answer YES, because I only hate one person and not forgive her for how she’s treating me but I have forgiven others. She answered “I am grateful of your honesty but even if it’s only one person, still you don’t forgive. How can God forgive your sins if you don’t know how to forgive? ”.
Until now, her words linger in my mind. Sometimes in our lives when we get hurt we don’t forgive easily, but time will come when we are ready to forgive and may be granted without any expectation of compensation is a part of our salvation. I am happy now because in my heart I have forgiven someone.
God Bless everyone!
