Psychology shows that majority of the decisions made by adolescents comes from the emotional part of the brain. They make decision based on social confirmity and peer acceptability. On the other hand adults make decisions using the logical part of the brain. They make decision based on advantages and disadvantages that would effect out of it.
Last week I had to make one of the hardest decision in my life. It's about my status in our studio, should I continue or stop dancing. I really like dancing, it's like an avenue for me to release tension and express myself. Also it's good excercise, it keeps me healthy. On the other hand my parents are pressuring me to stop dancing, they say that I should concentrate more on my studies because I'm graduating this March. But the dancing did not affect my studies.
After a long time of thinking and prayer and some advice from y friends I finally decided, I would stop for a while. Actually if you look at it my parents have a lot of valid points. Also I could return to dancing anytime I want. One year of dancing is already enough, I think it's time for me to take some much needed rest and concentrate more on my studies especially my thesis.
