In front of the eyes of the Toukasthas, Hoshimi brought the sacred tree back to life. The leaves came back to their beautiful color in a matter of hours. Seeing what they thought was a miracle, the Toukasthas authorized Hoshimi to approach the Chief, and let the professor cure him.

The Chief couldn’t stay awake for very long and getting him to speak was very difficult. He only remembered that he was stuck in the neck with a needle. He was asked multiple questions about the city of Indraprastha, and he couldn’t help telling everything, something in the injection had forced him to reveal these secrets he had kept all his life. Hoshimi, with the authorization of the Toukasthas, removed nano-neurocontrollers from his brain. The chief recovered very fast. Understanding that Hoshimi and his crew had no bad intentions and only wanted to protect them, the Chief decided to guide them to the entrance of the city as an effort to protect his people and their secret.

After gathering equipment and supplies, they were blindfolded and guided by the tribe to the secret city.

Days of walking came next. Blindfolded, Hoshimi’s team traveled over water and through many jungles; they were getting really exhausted. The 5th day, finally, the chief uncovered their eyes: they had arrived near a cave that seemed to be the entrance of the legendary city. The Chief, however, was worried; the white tiger that usually guarded the entrance wasn’t behaving as usual. Immediately Hoshimi, Ori and Indira noticed the red eyes of the tiger, a sign of presence of nano-neurocontrolers in his body. The team does not feel fear but they feel great pity for the animal. The chief shares that the tiger has been at these gates for thousands of years and cannot be left in this condition. With great skills the Chief puts the tiger to sleep, with a special arrow. Before going any further, the team agrees to help this magnificent animal who guards the gates of Indraprastha.

Your mission will be to deliver the tiger from nano-neurocontrolers controlling his mind and give him back his freedom.

Small Competition-training 3-the briefing

Files are here : http://thespoke.net/forums/948652/ShowPost.aspx

Small Competition-training 3-the story: The village of Toukastha

Mysore

The student developers succeeded in their mission: they were able to get the data stored in the eye of the monkey. Hoshimi, Ori and Indira spend hours and days, analysing every single image the monkey had memorized. But this long and painful work finally pays off when they discover an image of Pierre from the monkey’s eyes. Pierre appears near a strange tree, watching and carefully studying it. The tree is strangely tall, with a very wide trunk. Its size reflects the age of the tree, maybe about 3000 years old. The foliage is very green, and the leaves have a small round shape. Just next to the tree are objects that the team can’t quite understand. In the images, Pierre seems convinced that this tree is important to what he’s looking for.

Searching on the Internet, they find out that the tree is the sacred symbol of an ancient Indian tribe: the Toukasthas. When the professor hears this name, he understands why Pierre was there.

In fact, while he was working on the city of Indraprastha, he discovered that there were some survivors of the mystical city who made their way into modern society over the years. At some point in time, a disease from the outside world had managed to make it to the city and destroy much of the population. From that time the people who fled the city and formed a secret society that would guard the city’s location. Hoshimi quickly realized that the ambassador’s family was from the ancient civilization and this explained how he knew so much about the city. Instantly the team realized the remaining tribe was now in danger and they had to help them fast.

Toukastha

Their adventure continues, and they are now, on their way to northern India, where the Toukastha’s tribe is rumoured to have a center for their secret society. After days of searching they arrive in a remote village. The local people are not friendly to the strangers and very suspicious. The oldest man of the village comes to them, and asks them to leave immediately. Indira explains to them that an evil man is trying to reach and control Indraprastha and that the tribe is in danger from this man. The elder man invites them in his house, where Hoshimi, Ori and Indira can tell the whole story of what brought them to this place.

Understanding the situation, the wise man tells them of an incident that occurred just a few months ago : “A stranger was here, prowling in the surrounding areas… He was killing our forest, and one day, he arrived to the village. He was talking about the mystical city, but the chief, the only one to know, would not tell him anything. He left without saying a word. But one day, the chief was gone. He had disappeared… with the stranger. Our men looked for him, but they couldn’t find him… And one day, he came back, exhausted, and since then, he sleeps… After that, our sacred tree is dying, and that is all because of you, people interested in our legends!” he says, with a look of anger.

While the tribe would not trust the professor to cure the Chief, they would allow him to try his hand at curing the tree that was now dying. While the professor did not want to wait to help the Chief, he understood the tribe needed proof of his abilities.

The professor was sure that there were no reasons that the nanobots medicine would not work on a tree, which is a living organism.

Your mission will be to cure the sacred tree of the tribe of Toukastha.

With the help of brilliant students from around the world, the ambassador is awoken and has his memory fully intact. As it turns out the nanobots, guided inside his brain, reactivated areas controlled by evil nano-neurocontrolers and fully returned this missing time he had lost.

After a reunion of old friends where the ambassador and Professor Hoshimi talk about how good it is to see each other after all this time, the mood turns serious and they must discuss the matters at hand.. At this time, the ambassador now remembers very well everything that has happened during the week he had lost his memory.

With a quiet voice, he begins his story : “I remember a strange laboratory with the most modern equipment and sounds I had never heard. I saw monkeys, dozens or maybe hundreds of monkeys, and a face that I’m sure I’ve seen somewhere before. I think those animals were there for some experiments. There were all in cages, and the person I saw gave them many injections. I could tell he wanted something from me.” The fear was visible in the ambassador’s eyes as he spoke. “He wanted to know my friend Hoshimi… He wants the power of Indraprastha… He wants to find the secret of their energy to rule the world. Of course, I didn’t want to tell him anything that I knew.” He starts to shake all over as he spoke the next words. “He threatened my family, my little granddaughter… I had to do it, to tell him what I knew, about the mystical city of Indraprastha…” He stayed still a few seconds and then “Forgive me, my friend…” The professor invited his friend to rest before continuing his terrible story.

After having dinner, the ambassador came back to telling his story. “Those monkeys were programmed to look for the city. For days I had to go with them searching the jungle in so many different places of India to find the entrance of Indraprastha. I remember one other very strange thing: all the monkeys had red eyes.”

“One day, the person who I thought I knew, decided to change everything about where we were searching. We flew in a plane, with him and about twenty monkeys. I guess it’s somewhere near Mysore, where I was found. During the flight, the plane had mechanical problems, and we had to land unexpectedly. On the way down we lost control just as we landed and crashed, and I was the only one awake right after we hit. So I decided to run. I ran as fast and as far as I could, but soon, I ran out of energy and fainted. That’s where you found me and I guess that the nanobots that were put I my brain, were programmed to hide my memories if I was separated from my captors.

Listening closely, Hoshimi then shows the ambassador a picture, asking him if he recognizes the person. The ambassador shakes his head saying: “It’s him! He’s the person who kidnapped me! Who is he? Do you know him?” Hoshimi looks to the ground while he spoke “It’s Pierre; he used to work for me.” Thanking him for the information, the professor let his friend the ambassador rest with his family.

The following day, Hoshimi and Ori spend the entire day explaining the events to the government agencies of India and Japan. The Indian agency is assigning one of their best agents to help solve the mystery. Her name is Indira. Indira is already aware of the project and her specialty in undercover operations will be valuable to the Professor and Ori. The team decides to go to Mysore, where they will hopefully, find the crashed plane and discover clues to the ambassador’s kidnapping.

Mysore

After days of searching, Ori, Indira and the professor find the crashed plane. Inside, they see empty cages, medical equipment and spots of blood that have come from a monkey still locked in a cage. This monkey must have been abandoned or presumed dead. The team takes the monkey back to their mobile lab, helps it calm down and make sure it is fed and taken care of. Now they can analyze how that monkey had lived for so long without drinking or eating.

After analyzing the blood of the monkey, it turns out the monkey is a half robot animal. They find a very high concentration of nanobots in the blood, revealing that it really is Pierre who modified these poor animals. More than this, some special nanobots, again those nano-neurocontrolers, seem to be broadcasting information through cellular technology into the air. Pierre is probably receiving all the key information gathered by the army of monkeys and guiding them to do what he wants. The monkeys are used like smart cameras. Their eyes and their brain gather and analyze the data. Only key information, based on programmable criteria, is broadcasted. The good news is that before being broadcasted, the information is buffered in nanobots located in the eyes of the monkey.

Your mission is to travel to the eyes of the monkey with your nanobots and retrieve what the monkey has seen.

Create your own SMALL COMPETITION

I posted a new project (with full source code) which allow you to play and manage multiple games. This project (CSAutomate) is a good start for you for creating small competitions, or just to test mltiple versions of your dll without staying in front of your computer.

You can download it there: http://data.thespoke.net/imaginecup2006/ProjectHoshimi/Community/CSAutomate.zip

How does it work?

It's a console application which works with arguments.
In players folder, put all dlls you want to test.
In Missions folder, put the missions.
Then, execute:

CSAutomate /T:CB /TI:round1mission.tsu

It will create Launch.bat file. For each dll in Players folder, it will create a line like this:

CSAutomate /T:GA /P1:playerName.dll /TI:mission.tsu /FQ:0

/T:GA says: play a GAme.
/P1:playerName.dll is the name of the dll which will play the game.
/TI:mission.tsu is the name of the mission you want to test.
/FQ:x is the FrenQuency of records. It will create a cvs file recording your score each x turn. If you set it to 0, no csv will be created.

At the end of the game, a .save file is created: it's the result of the game (xml file).

If you execute:

CSAutomate /T:ST

The program will look at all .save files in Replays folder and create a stats.cvs file with a summary of all results.

If you execute:

CSAutomate /T:CP /TI:MissionName.tsu /FQ:0

It will create a pool system. If 2, 3, 4 or 5 dlls are in players folder, it will create a Launch.bat file which contains all games P1 vs P2 players and you'll know who is the best.

ENJOY IT and tell me if you made any modifications to it.
