Been out to see a play tonight. A good old british farce, with an Internet twist. Called "Caught in the Net" it tells the tale of two teenagers who meet in the chatrooms and discover that their dads have a lot in common. And this is not terribly surprising since dad has been running two families for 16 years. The complications pile upon themselves as dad tries to keep kids and wives from meeting and his hapless best friend comes up with wilder and wilder stories to explain everything. All good fun. And, surprisingly, happily resolved by the end.

I think that farces like this are an institution peculiar to the english, although the programme notes that they go back to the Greeks (just like around everything else I suppose). Anyhoo, if you get a chance to see it I'd advise you to go along. The construction, performance and timing have to be just right for for a farce to be properly funny. And tonight they were.

Sounds like fun. Americans don't seem to write farces as well at the British. But British farces do show up in playhouses here from time to time. I enjoy them.
