I’m trying hard not to buy too many books while I’m here. Yesterday I only bought a couple, one on test driven development and the other on Object Based Design. I’ll let you know what they are like a bit later. But today, having vowed not to spend any more on books I find that the new edition of Steve McConnell Code Complete has just arrived. Darn darn darn. Of course I had to buy it. Of course it is wonderful. Of course you should read it.
There are two classes of programmers, those who have read and understood Code Complete and those who have not. It is just like there are two kinds of lifeguard. Those who can swim and those who cannot.
Oh, and because they were offering a free T shirt if you bought two books I also had to buy a really good book on Windows command line tools. Darn darn darn.
