Lottery Puzzle

I've never bought a lottery ticket. I enjoy life as it is and I don't think that I could be improved by millions of pounds (and I know a bit about probability). Strangely, people I know think that I would be massively improved if I was rich - but I suspect their motives....

However, the question today is:

what are the odds that the six balls chosen from the lottery come out in ascending order? (the balls are numbered from 1 to 49).

Someone described the lottery as a tax on people who do not understand math. I suspect they are write. Personally I do not care about the odds and buy the occasional ticket just so I can think about "what if." Without a ticket the exercise is pointless.

I did loads of probablity during my undergrad but somehow i am able to collect it all. As far as i have worked out the probablity of ur puzzle should be 10 power-8. The solution appears quite silly but thats what i reckon the solution should be. But i can definately say zero in case at the first time if the ball picked up is numbered 1. So lets say something 10 power -8 and tending to zero. I know i am not good at all in maths now and should seriously think about taking up some courses in maths.

Six balls in ascending order? 43/49 * 1/48 * 1/47 * 1/46 * 1/45 * 1/44 = approximately 4.27e-9 or 0.00000000427
