More High Blood Pressure

I seem to be having a bad week blood pressure wise. Had the same bad thing happen to me three times just now.  I think that by the third time I was as annoyed at myself as I was at the software.

I've been using Google for email for quite some time now. It works well and I like the idea of being able to read my email from anything with a browser. However, this can cause huge amounts of grief too. I was composing a long email whilst at same time working with a program. I'd just typed a huge wodge of text and I did something in the program which opened a browser. Quick as a flash the email message that I had been carefully composing with finely honed words and well mannered tone (more posh prose eh?) vanished to be replaced by another web page.

And I lost the lot. So I started again. At almost exactly the same point in the message, I did the same thing again. Vowing never to do that again. I typed in another load of stuff. And did it again. Wah. I've finally sent the message off and now I think I have to go and lie down for a while...

I feel the same way when I time out here while posting at theSpoke. Sometimes I'll go looking for a pertinent link and if I'm gone too long - goodbye post. I've started c'n'p-ing when it's especially pity.

I reckon, it would be quite unlike of u, As being a programmer first lesson , programming teaches us to be patient ... but i agree we all loose it one time or the other .. ;)

Almost anything I do that is both long and for a web interface I write in Word first and then cut & paste. It's saved me more than a few times. Or course it took me a while to learn.

Yep. I've used the word cut and paste technique in the past. You get the benefit of a spell checker too. But this time I thought I didn't need to bother. Three times.

I thought it was possible to force IE with a setting to always open websites in a new window, rather like the option to do so with the file explorer...
