Atari Lynx

I've always wanted an Atari Lynx. It was one of the early handhelds. Developed by a couple of blokes who were also behind the Amiga (another machine I have a great respect for) it had hardware way ahead of its time and a very powerful processor. And the batteries lasted four hours. Which is one of the reasons it never took off, leaving the lowly Gameboy to corner the market in portable gaming.

But today a games shop had one in stock second hand. With a case and a bunch of games. I'm supposed to be off gadgets just at the moment, but I've not seen one for sale for a while so I picked it up. The games are actually pretty good. My favourite at the moment is California Games which contains a really funny surfing simulation. I reckon the machine is around 10 years old. And I reckon I can get better performance from my Smartphone. We have come a long way in 10 years....
