Through the lens

I've been into photography since I was very young. I remember borrowing books from he library which said that cameras would never be auto focus. Around 25 years ago I got an SLR film camera (which I still have). When digital came along I got little camera which works great. But I really loved using the SLR.

So, when I came into some money today I managed to put enought aside to get my first digital SLR (they have dropped in price a lot too - which helps). And it works a treat. The manual is a bit scary, the first page has the heading Safety Warnings and Preventing Injury and Death. I thought for a while that cameras had got a lot more dangerous over the years - but it turns out to be instructions about not eating the batteries.

It got dark before the camera battery had finished charging, but I'm looking forward to taking some snaps in daylight tomorrow. I'll post any nice ones.

Which camera did you decide on? (I'm only asking because I was thinking about getting one too and I'm curious as to how you like using it.) I look forward to seeing how the pictures turn out.

I got a Canon EOS 300D. Fits my budget and they are doing a 100 pound cashback deal at the moment. The pictures are very good, I'll post a couple tomorrow.
