This morning wasn't too bad. But this afternoon has not been good at all. Some time ago I got a new PC and I've started migrating over to it. I was going to move all my files by the simple expedient of transferring the hard disk. I've done this many times before and it has always worked fine. Until today. When the hard disk failed.

Fortunately I have backups of everything, but it is still a bit of a shock to the system to be off the air for a lot longer than I was planning. This is probably nature's way of saying I should have got rid of lots of stuff earlier, but whatever, it is still very irritating.
