I've long had an ongoing relationship with "Code Complete 2" by Steve McConnell. But now a new suitor has come along and quite taken my fancy. This is not because I am fickle where Software Engineering texts are concerned, but because I'm always on the lookout for good books in this area. So, along comes "Coder to Developer" by Mike Gunderloy, published by Sybex. The neat thing about this book is that it is very practical. It has tips for .NET, Visual Studio, unit testing, debugging, deployment and lots of other really good stuff. It aims to do just what it says on the tin and it does it very well.

I'm not falling out with Code Complete 2 though, because that has a breadth of coverage and scope which is well beyound just writing good programs. But I reckon that this is another book that you must have read if you are serious about this business. Buy it, read it and thank me later...
